Luke 20

After reading this chapter an seeing how many times that people were trying to trap Jesus, it made me really sad.  These people have seen Jesus do miraculous things, and instead of worshiping for who he is–the Son of God, for crying out loud–they try to find ways to trap him or trick him so that they can arrest him.  To me, they are jealous of the attention that he is getting from the people.  They don’t care if he is right or not.  They just want the attention on themselves, rather than on Jesus.

And then I realized, that I am like “them.”  I want the attention on me, rather than on Jesus.  I should care more about what Jesus says–because he’s always right–and care less about how popular I am.  But I just can’t seem to help myself.  I care too much about what other people think, and I want people to like me.  Jesus, on the other hand, loved people so well that he died for them, even if they didn’t like him.
